Ventura County needs a school board trustee who brings practical experience and deep knowledge about education. Kristina has been a teacher for 20 years. She and her husband Christian have two children in Simi Valley schools. Kristina is a PTSA President, a member of the Simi Valley Education Foundation, and a frequent volunteer in her children's school. Kristina understands how children learn and will work to ensure that Ventura County schools offer the best possible education for every child. Her unique experience and perspective make her an ideal candidate for VCBOE board trustee.
Kristina's platform is based on her commitment to three key values. She will continue to advocate for students in public schools, focusing on
Transparency and Public Trust
As a VCOE Board Trustee, I will work to restore public trust in the Ventura County Office of Education.
Provide fiscal oversight and guidance for local districts
While serving on the SVUSD Board, I expanded programs and opportunities for students, families, and staff, while also maintaining fiscal solvency. I will use that experience while collaborating with local districts.
Advocacy for student populations needing additional educational support
As a SVUSD Trustee, I insisted on full funding from the state and federal governments for special education. As a VCOE Trustee, I will use the additional avenues available to fight for what districts and states are owed by IDEA and other federal programs.
